HSBC appoints CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc as global property adviser for 72 million sq ft portfolio

2 August, 2011 –CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. (NYSE:CBG) today announced that it has been appointed by HSBC to serve as Global Strategic Property Portfolio Manager and Regional Transaction Partner in the Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America regions. HSBC’s global property portfolio comprises more than 7,500 properties with approximately 72 million sq ft located in 87 countries.

CBRE has been selected as the exclusive Global Strategic Property Portfolio Manager and the exclusive Regional Transaction Partner in Europe. CBRE will be a Shared Delivery Partner for transactions in Asia Pacific, North America and Latin America. Continue reading

CBRE gets stamp of approval on Mailbox

2 August, 2011 – CB Richard Ellis has been appointed to market 45,000 sq ft of office space at The Mailbox.

New owner of the mixed-use development, Brockton Capital, has appointed the property consultancy to let the former Post Office sorting office, on a sole agency basis, following a pitch against several other regional and national consultancies. Continue reading

CB Richard Ellis achieves carbon neutrality goal

CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. (CBRE), has achieved carbon neutrality for its 2010 global operations, including its office in Birmingham.

In 2007, CB Richard Ellis adopted a companywide Environmental Stewardship policy, which included the goal of becoming carbon neutral.  CB Richard Ellis is the first global commercial real estate services firm to achieve carbon neutrality.

The company achieved neutrality by implementing carbon mitigation programs, such as green leasing standards and sustainable operation protocols, and then offsetting the remainder by investing in carbon mitigation projects, such as conservation-based forest initiatives, landfill methane destruction and sustainability projects in emerging economies. For 2010, the company offset more than 50,000 metric tons of emissions.

Works starts on phase two of multi-million pound refurbishment of Livery Place

Work has started on the second phase of a multi-million pound refurbishment programme to upgrade up to 36,665 sq ft of office space at Highcross‘ Livery Place, in Birmingham.

Highcross is investing £1 million in the building, which is located on the corner of Livery Street, in the Colmore Business District, to bring the 1st to 4th floors up to Grade A specification, in what is the largest refurbishment programme in Birmingham this year. The refurbished space will have new raised floors, suspended ceilings, LG7 compliant lighting and a new ducted comfort cooling and heating system.

Trio of accolades for CBRE

CB Richard Ellis Group Inc, has been named in the FORTUNE 500 list of the largest U.S.-based companies for the fourth consecutive year.

CBRE, which has an office in Birmingham, is the only commercial real estate services firm ever to be included in the influential listing, which ranks companies by total revenue.

CBRE was placed 440th on the list, up nearly 60 places from last year.
