Mills & Reeve staff raise more than £10,000 for charity

Fifteen employees from the Birmingham office of national law firm Mills & Reeve have helped to raise more than £10,000 for charity.

The Birmingham-based team joined 49 other employees from Mills & Reeve offices around the country to take part in a “reverse jailbreak” challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The ‘jailbreakers’ were dropped at random locations throughout the National Peak District and were tasked with navigating up to 20 miles back to base in treacherous weather conditions.

Mark Jeffries, Mills & Reeve’s senior partner, who took part in the challenge, said: “The challenge was a massive success and everyone had a great time despite the persistent driving rain, gushing rivers, bogs, endless marsh land, and almost vertical cliff climbs! Mills & Reeve’s Charity Challenge Committee would like to thank everyone who donated and contributed to this year’s ‘challenging’ challenge.”

Each year Mills & Reeve donates around £65,000 to a variety of causes. The firm’s employees are able to take part in fundraising initiatives thanks to its ‘give-a-day’ scheme which allows all staff a day’s paid leave each year to allow them to participate in community projects.
