Deloitte HELPs the County Air Ambulance

The Birmingham office of business advisory firm Deloitte has donated £25,000 to the County Air Ambulance’s Helicopter Emergency Landing Pad (HELP) Appeal.

Staff and partners from the firm raised the money by taking part in various events and charity initiatives over the past 18 months, including the Birmingham Half Marathon and two Ladies’ Lunches hosted by Deloitte.

The money will be used to help fund the installation of helipad lighting and upgrade facilities at the Strensham Air Base on the M5, a project specifically supported by Deloitte in Birmingham.

CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) has appointed Sir Michael Lyons and Sir Andrew Foster as strategic advisers to boost  its  Government & Infrastructure team’s expertise in public sector assets and infrastructure.

Sir Michael Lyons, who has served as chief executive to three major local authorities in the Midlands – Birmingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, and Wolverhampton Borough Council – will provide strategic advice and counsel on public sector assets, local government and regeneration, and Sir Andrew Foster will advise the team on infrastructure.

Deloitte trio complete 1,000 mile bike ride in support of ParalympicsGB

Three cyclists from Deloitte in Birmingham have successfully completed a 1,000 mile bike ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

Ashley Hollinshead, Lindsay Buckenham and Ant Thomas joined hundreds of other cyclists as they crossed the finish line after nine days in the saddle. Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell led the 500 cyclists into Land’s End to complete the epic journey.

The cyclists, which included Paralympic gold medallists Sarah Storey and Danny Crates, were taking part in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain to help raise money for ParalympicsGB.

Charity completes Sheffield scheme

Children’s charity Barnardo’s has secured the last remaining unit at Birley Moor Park, in Sheffield.

Barnardo’s has taken 1,300 sq ft at the development on Birley Moor Road, on a ten year lease.

The former petrol filling station site has been redeveloped by Jack Loggin Ltd to provide a mixed-use scheme comprising 14 apartments on the first and second floor, and 7,100 sq ft of retail space on the ground floor.

A corking deal for Colliers International

Majestic Wine Warehouses, the UK’s largest wine warehouse chain, has acquired the former Ford dealership site in Four Pools, Evesham.

The company, which operates 160 stores throughout the UK, has taken a fifteen year lease at an annual rent of £45,000.

The two-storey building, on Foor Pools Lane, adjacent to Four Pools Retail Park, extends to circa 4,685 sq ft  (435 sq m) on a site of approximately 0.3 acres (0.15 hecatres), which includes 30 car parking spaces.

Deloitte trio in marathon charity cycle challenge

Three cyclists from Deloitte in Birmingham are taking on a marathon cycling challenge  from John O’Groats to Land’s End as part of the Deloitte Ride Across Britain.

Ashley Hollinshead, a partner in the firm’s tax team, is taking on the epic 950-mile journey with colleagues Lindsay Buckenham and Ant Thomas.

The trio joined dozens of other riders from Deloitte’s offices across the UK to cycle the length of Britain to raise money for ParalympicsGB. Deloitte is aiming to raise £1 million over four years to support all Great Britain’s future Paralympians for London 2012 and beyond.
