New contracts boost turnover at construction consultancy

The £12m fit-out at Audi’s flagship new showroom

Birmingham-based HCT Construction Consultants has completed the £12m fit-out of Audi’s flagship new showroom.

The construction consultancy was responsible for the post contract quantity surveying of the world’s largest Audi Centre, on London’s Great West Road. The impressive showroom spans three floors and has space to display 116 cars.

Closer to home, HCT also project managed the extension and fit-out of a VIP area at Birmingham’s Mechu Bar on Summer Row, on behalf of Town & Country Inns plc (T&CI).

The project followed T&CI’s successful roll-out of its up-market Apres brand in Birmingham, Stafford, Lichfield, Mere Green, Solihull and Cheltenham, where HCT took on project management and quantity surveying roles.

HCT has enjoyed a nine per cent increase in turnover for the year, on the back of these and other projects.

Trevor Cartwright, a founder director of HCT, said: “Despite a difficult year for the construction industry we have still managed growth. Excellent project management and quantity surveying skills are more important than ever as clients seek to drive down costs and delays on construction projects, whilst maintaining quality and the ability to deliver.”

In addition to its project management and quantity surveying services, HCT also offers CDM (construction, design and management) co-ordination, party wall surveying, dispute resolution and project monitoring services. The firm employs ten staff and works across the UK on public and private sector construction projects, ranging in value from £250,000 – £30m. Clients include West Midlands Police Authority, BUPA, Volkswagen Group United Kingdom Limited, Loomis UK Limited, Worcester County Council, Bank of Scotland, Allied Irish Bank, Willmott Dixon Group, Interserve plc, Shaylor Group and the Reserve Forces Assocations throughout the UK.
