Barteak on a roll with Barloworld letting

Activity at Avon House, in Solihull, has stepped up a gear with the letting to global logistics company Barloworld.

Just weeks after announcing its fifth tenant at the building, Barteak Developments has secured another high-profile occupier.

Barloworld is one of the world’s leading supply chain management companies, with operations in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, South-East Asia and the Far East.

The company has taken 3,809 sq ft/ 354 sq m on a five year lease, at a rent of £18 per sq ft/ £194 per sq m.

Helen Bates, office manager at Barloworld, said: “We have already received many compliments from our clients and suppliers on the quality of the building, location and the positive impression it creates.

“The proximity to services and local amenities is excellent, as is access to transport links.”

Avon House is situated on Stratford Road, Shirley, and comprises 26,000 sq ft/2,415 sq m of prime office accommodation, over four floors, with a further 2,000 sq ft/186 sq m of retail space on the ground floor, which is let to Avanti Kitchens on a ten-year lease. Other tenants include Forum Law Solicitors and Reed Exhibitions.

Avon House also benefits from more than 100 secure car parking spaces, plus a number of sustainable features, which have helped it achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘very good’ and an EPC rating of ‘B’.

Julian King, development surveyor at Barteak, said: “The letting to Barloworld follows on neatly from the recent letting to Forum Law and means Avon House is now well on the way to being fully let.

“Attracting blue chip names such as Barloworld is a real coup, both for the building and the local business community, and further demonstrates the quality on offer at Avon House.

“Whilst some buildings have found it difficult to attract tenants, we continue to receive a high level of interest from potential occupiers.”

CB Richard Ellis and Martin Bloomer Associates are joint agents for the development.
